Jordan's World Fair

Jordan's 6th grade school class did a project on different countries around the world called World's Fair. Jordan and his friend, Luke, did a presentation on Brazil. They did a lot of projects together to learn about Brazil including writing trivia questions, drawing a natural resources map and several minature replicas of the Brazilian flag.

Jordan borrowed several Brazilian objects from his Uncle Shad and Uncle Paul and from a family friend who also served his mission in Brazil. When the big day came, Jordan was very excited. Many students and parents came to see the booths. As visitors came to his booth, Jordan and Luke would begin their presentation by welcoming them in Portugese. Not only did they share information about Brazil, but they also shared a sampling of food native to Brazil including rice, beans, chocolate, and a type of soft drink (I can't remember how to spell it). Jordan had a great time.

Chase receives academic award

Chase was recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. The awards ceremony took place at Poston Jr. High School on May 10th. The society was formed to recognize outstanding junior high school students. It recognizes students according to five characteristics: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship.
It is also used as a way to encourage students to participate in community service, requiring a certain number of hours in order for students to stay in the society. In order to receive this award, a student must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and receive 3 recommendations from teachers. We are very proud of Chase. He continues to set a great example for his younger brothers to follow.

A favorite quote

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion.
Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare.
Impossible is potential.
Impossible is temporary.
IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING."
